The tragedy occurred on April 1 in Bolesławiec, on Opitza Street. The 36-year-old woman inflicted numerous knife wounds to her young son’s abdomen and then attempted to take her own life.
The prosecutor’s office established that the woman had previously received psychiatric treatment. Doctors determined that she was not criminally responsible at the time of the incident.
Due to the woman’s lack of criminal responsibility, investigators decided to discontinue the proceedings and send her for treatment at a psychiatric facility. The motion was submitted to the regional court in Jelenia Góra.
The two-year-old is already at home under his family’s care.
