This year’s winners of A Day at 10BKPanc were: Jerzy Papiorek and Marcin Młynarczyk. Neither was participating in WOŚP auctions offering stays at military institutions for the first time. Among other things, Marcin Młynarczyk won an auction organized by the Land Forces Training Centre in Poznań, which guaranteed him participation in training at the Biedrusko training ground. Jerzy Papiorek, a resident of Kraków, also has experience supporting WOŚP, having taken part two years ago in a cruise aboard the Polish minelayer-transport ship ORP Poznań.
At 10BKPanc, the guests began the day with breakfast in the military canteen. Next, in the Tradition Hall, they listened to the brigade’s history before setting off in a Hummer for the Tank Combat Firing Range (SPCz). There, the 3rd Company of the 1st Tank Battalion (1bcz) invited the guests to participate in training activities. Both men had the opportunity to see inside a tank and take a short ride. Immediately afterwards, the company commander, Lieutenant Krzysztof Mruk, appointed them honorary tank crewmen. Mr Jerzy enjoyed being a tank crewman so much that it was difficult to persuade him to move on to the next stages of the visit. He wanted to return to the vehicle and learn everything about it.
Senior Warrant Officer Krzysztof Sieradzki invited the guests to the next attraction: training on the AAT, AGPT and ASPT simulators located at the Leopard Training Centre. Warrant Officer Sieradzki allowed the guests to load the gun on the AAT trainer and fire it, which gave them great joy.
Next, the newly appointed honorary tank crewmen had to familiarise themselves with weapons and test their skills with personal firearms. The first activity took place at the Infantry Combat Firing Range (SBPiech), using the Cyklop device for training. The second took place at Świętoszów’s Śnieżnik range. It turned out that both men were excellent marksmen and handled the task very well.
After a day full of impressions, the guests went for a well-deserved lunch. At the end of the day, they both met with the acting commander of 10BKPanc, Colonel Dariusz Nawrocki, who congratulated them on their impressive interests and presented them with certificates of Honorary Soldier of 10BKPanc.
