The most important indoor competition in the province in the under-16 category was held on Saturday, February 1, in Wałbrzych. Bolesławiec was represented by 18 MKS Bolesłavia athletes. Our athletes won eight medals, including five gold and three bronze.
Excellent form was shown by Dominika Kwaszcz and Mateusz Tofil, who outclassed their rivals in two events. The athlete coached by Bartosz Gruman took first place in the 60 m hurdles and long jump, while Mateusz won the high jump and 60 m hurdles. (Coaches: Paweł Wiśniewski and Bartosz Gruman.) Tobiasz Burzyński also became the indoor Lower Silesian champion in the 1,000 m (3:04.31).
It is worth adding that Dominika Kwaszcz’s long-jump result and Mateusz Tofil’s 60 m hurdles result are currently the best results in Poland in the under-16 category.
Three athletes won bronze: Kacper Tałocha in the 60 m hurdles (coach Bartosz Gruman), Laura Śledzińska in the shot put (coach Tomasz Markowski) and Kamil Kawka in the 600 m (coach Ryszard Posacki).
