A married woman in her twenties falls mutually in love with a married man. For 25 years, the lovers see each other only three times, at Christmas parties held at her husband’s company. When they meet for the fourth time after a quarter of a century, he still loves her.
The author of the play “Old Love,” Norm Foster, dispels our preconceptions about love—both spiritual and physical—that a person may encounter in mature, or even very mature, age.
Bud Mitchel (Artur Barciś) has been in love with Molly Graham (Małgorzata Ostrowska-Królikowska) for many years. She seemingly responds to his courtship coldly. Finally, after her husband’s death and his divorce from his wife, the two must face their feelings, desires and longings.
“Old Love” is a play that prompts reflection on life and deals with important matters, such as sex in mature age, but does so in an exceptionally amusing way. It is the story of a relationship that began long ago and blossomed years later thanks to the man’s determination. Bud Mitchel tries to win the heart of his distant and cold beloved. The optimism conveyed by “Old Love” allows us to believe that life can be beautiful at any age.
