Price increases at filling stations are becoming less and less surprising to drivers. In recent days, fuel prices have risen sharply once again. Once again, our city has ranked among the Polish cities with the most expensive fuel. According to quotations from the Polish Chamber of Liquid Fuels dated October 14, the national average price of diesel is PLN 3.94 per litre. The average price of LPG is PLN 2.13, while the average price of 95-octane petrol is PLN 4.28. In Bolesławiec, excluding stations by the bypass roundabouts, diesel costs PLN 3.99, LPG PLN 2.09, and 95-octane petrol PLN 4.35.
The comparison shows that LPG prices are the least burdensome for Bolesławiec drivers. The price of this fuel in our city is still lower than the national average (PLN 2.13). Petrol and diesel drivers have no reason for optimism. The prices of these fuels are still among the highest in the country. Fuel prices at Bolesławiec filling stations are determined by PKN Orlen, the largest fuel producer and seller in the region. However, prices are not set in Bolesławiec. The company has sales divisions responsible for particular areas of the country, and pricing decisions are made there. Their level is determined by external factors—crude oil and refined fuel prices on global exchanges and the dollar exchange rate—as well as internal factors: the situation on the local fuel market and geographical location. In recent months, both PKN Orlen and Grupa Lotos have explained that continually rising fuel prices are the result of increasing crude oil prices on global exchanges.
