Confessional documentary about Roman Polanski was filmed during his detention in Switzerland. The reason for his arrest was a warrant issued by the US authorities in 1978. In 1977, Polanski was accused of raping a minor.

This cinematic portrait is a story in which the director returns to places, people and feelings that are no longer there, but which shaped who he is and where he is today. Polanski recalls the wartime period, sketches a portrait of his parents, and talks about the tragic events in the USA, working abroad and the women in his life.

The documentary is complemented by Polanski’s new erotic comedy “Venus in Fur” (at Forum cinema from 15 November).

The November program also includes “Two Lives”, this year’s German Oscar submission starring Liv Ullmann, known for Ingmar Bergman’s greatest works, as well as the British musical comedy-drama “Song for Marion”
