Police officers detained an 18-year-old woman from Bolesławiec who regularly stole from the owner of the store where she worked alongside her own mother. The teenager carried out the scheme from September 4 to October 13. She stole money, cigarettes, alcohol and food products. She stole cash (PLN 100, 200 or 300 at a time; the most in a single instance was PLN 700) by entering fictitious returns for various goods, thereby ensuring that there was no shortage in the daily balance.

The teenager defrauded her employer of more than PLN 17,000. She told the officers that she needed the money, among other things, to repay debts. She also explained that she committed the thefts not only during her own shift, but also when her mother was working at the store. She would simply offer to take her mother’s place for a while.

At the suspect’s home, officers found several packages of painkillers, which had also been stolen. The 18-year-old now faces up to five years in prison.
