The Jelenia Góra District Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment with the District Court in Luban against 28-year-old Andrzej S., who was accused of exceeding his official powers. Between 6 March 2011 and 29 February 2012, S. allegedly issued 23 penalty notices bearing forged signatures of people who had not committed the offenses specified in the notices (primarily consuming alcohol in violation of prohibitions).
In recognition of his conscientious performance of official duties and outstanding results in preventive policing, the accused was rewarded four times by the district police chief (he received a total of PLN 1,100).
The 28-year-old did not plead guilty. He refused to give explanations. By a decision of the prosecutor’s office, he was suspended from official duties. He faces up to 10 years in prison. The hearing was scheduled for October this year.
