During an organizational and information meeting with students of the Bolesławiec University of the Third Age, the mayor Piotr Roman mentioned that the city park at Tyrankiewiczów Street had never officially been named after Ludwik Waryński. “We went through all the documents; it was never Waryński Park,” he stressed. He added that city officials currently refer to the place as “the park that was never named after Ludwik Waryński” (an activist and ideologue of the Polish socialist movement).
Roman also said that former soldiers had approached him with a proposal for the park to be named after the Polish Army. We will return to the matter.
