The district championships of lower secondary schools in the athletics league are behind us. The competition was held on 18 September at the municipal stadium. The champions were the girls from Gimnazjum Samorządowe No. 1 (Sylwia Jaźwicz, Aleksandra Niezgoda, Aneta Klementowska, Magda Poznańska, Natalia Regińska, Natalia Król, Klaudia Grabarz, Justyna Deberny, Weronika Wiśniowiecka, Iza Kruszwicka, Klaudia Petters, Oliwia Domzalska, Paulina Dobiech and Wiktoria Paszyńska). The team’s coach is Ryszard Posacki. The athletes from GS No. 2 won the silver medal. The girls from GS No. 3 came third.
In the boys’ category, the team from GS No. 2 won the championship (the squad consisted of: Jakub Karaban, Kacper Popławski, Joel Kusiciel, Piotr Gadziński, Tobiasz Burzyński, Mateusz Kwieciński, Mateusz Tofil, Paweł Gadziński, Szymon Janiec, Maciej Wilk, Szymon Laudański, Piotr Filistyński, Krystian Karaban, Dominik Stec and Damian Biernacki). The team’s coach is Tomasz Markowski. The players from GS No. 1 became runners-up. The athletes from GS No. 3 took third place in the team classification.
Individually, Laura Śledzińska and Mateusz Tofil (both from GS No. 2) scored the most points. The competition was organized by the Inter-School Sports Centre, operating within the structures of the District Centre for Education and Staff Training.
