The action took place on 25 July. Officers from the Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, together with Rev. Artur Kotrys from the Bolesławiec Marian Basilica, conducted activities aimed at improving road safety. The officers reminded drivers of the applicable regulations, while the chaplain appealed for prudence and handed drivers images of St Christopher.

What is more, a preventive meeting entitled “Stop Road Pirates” was also held that day. Both events are part of the Triduum of St Christopher. “As every year, on 25 July we will celebrate the day of St Christopher, the patron saint of drivers,” says Rev. Prelate Andrzej Jarosiewicz, custodian of the Bolesławiec Marian Basilica. “We did not want this celebration to be limited solely to the blessing of vehicles, so in cooperation with officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, we organised an extensive Triduum.”

On Friday, 26 July, another preventive meeting entitled “Do Not Be Indifferent When You See an Accident!” will take place at the Basilica. It begins at 7:00 p.m..

Meanwhile, on 28 July (Sunday) at 12:30 p.m. a Mass will be celebrated for the intentions of all drivers. “We will pray for victims of road accidents and remind people of the virtue of prudence, which should accompany us when we use a car or motorcycle,” states the Basilica’s custodian.

The service will be accompanied by the blessing of vehicles. “Therefore, we ask you to park cars and motorcycles as close to the church as possible,” adds Rev. Andrzej Jarosiewicz.
