– As every year, on July 25 we will celebrate the feast of St. Christopher, patron saint of drivers – says Rev. Monsignor Andrzej Jarosiewicz, custodian of the Bolesławiec Marian Basilica. – We did not want this feast to be limited solely to the blessing of vehicles, which is why, in cooperation with officers of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters, we are organizing an extensive Triduum of St. Christopher.
On Thursday, July 25 a meeting titled “Stop Road Pirates!” will be held in the Basilica, and on Friday, July 26 there will be a meeting titled “Don’t Be Indifferent When You Witness an Accident!” Both events will begin at 7:00 p.m.. They will be led by Bolesławiec police officers.
Meanwhile, on July 28 (Sunday) at 12:30 p.m. a Mass for all drivers will be celebrated. – We will pray for the victims of road accidents and remind people of the virtue of prudence, which should accompany us when we use a car or motorcycle – says the Basilica’s custodian.
The service will include the blessing of vehicles. – Therefore, we ask you to park cars and motorcycles as close to the church as possible – adds Rev. Andrzej Jarosiewicz.
It is worth noting that, as part of the Triduum, Rev. Artur Kotrys will take part in the St. Christopher Patrol, which will include police officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters.
