It is increasingly common for people to dump rubbish in each other’s bins. This problem has affected, among others, residents of a property on Starzyńskiego Street managed by Jan Molenda. Residents often had to pay for the removal of other people’s waste. As a result, the bin area was secured and locked.

Flying Papers

Recently, many bin areas have been rebuilt. Contrary to the opinions of some residents, the modernization is not required by EU regulations. Building additional walls is intended to keep the area clean. The aim is to prevent the wind from scattering waste. The walls are built on the windward side. “We do not want papers flying through the streets. Such walls will gradually be built around all the bin areas on the estate,” explain the administration staff of the buildings on Starzyńskiego Street.

There Is No Remedy for Vagrants

Unfortunately, besides the wind, poverty is responsible for the disorder around the bin areas. It forces people to search through bins. Homeless and unemployed people often empty the contents of containers in search of waste they can sell. Managers can do nothing about this, because nobody will lock the bins on large housing estates.
