Two brothers, aged 25 and 22, were detained by police officers from Kruszyn after stealing sheet metal from the workplace where they were employed as security guards. The suspects stole nearly 9 tonnes of sheet metal worth approximately PLN 9,000.
The older brother was caught while transporting 40 sheets of metal worth PLN 700. It turned out that the 25-year-old had committed 12 thefts between October last year and April this year, three of them in cooperation with his brother.
The suspects confessed. They explained that they had sold the stolen sheet metal at a scrap-metal collection point. Police recovered some of the stolen property.
The 25- and 22-year-olds face up to five years in prison.
