Bolesławiec police conducted the “Speed” operation on April 16, aimed at improving road safety in the city and county. Officers checked 60 vehicles and issued 40 fines for exceeding the permitted speed limit.

What is more, officers caught three drunk drivers and two drivers who were banned from operating motor vehicles.

Police remind drivers that excessive speed is one of the most common causes of road accidents, while seat belts are the most effective way to ensure safety while driving. Half of the people killed in road accidents could be alive if they had been wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
