New equipment worth PLN 9,000 has appeared in the gym of the Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec. – The school generates income from renting out rooms and the canteen. What is more, a Plus network transmitter is installed on the roof – explains Mirosław Sakowski, headmaster of II LO. – We use these funds to purchase sports equipment, audiovisual equipment and computers, as well as to carry out renovations. I would like to thank the county authorities for this opportunity.
– We want to encourage young people to engage in physical activity – emphasizes PE teacher Edyta Kwiecińska. – For the girls, we introduced elements of aerobics, among other activities, and for the boys, strength exercises. Our female students really enjoy the gym classes. Thanks to the gym, PE lessons are more varied – she adds. – Some students prefer to go to the gym when exercises in sports they are not interested in are taking place – adds teacher Krzysztof Malina.
The II General Secondary School offers facilities for practicing many sports. Table tennis, gymnastics and aerobics are held in the school’s assembly hall. The gymnasium and the Orlik, meanwhile, are ideal for team games. What is more, in the next school year II LO plans to purchase additional gym equipment.
