The District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra has filed an indictment with the court against a 23-year-old resident of the city.

According to investigators, the man allegedly induced eight people to dispose of their property to their disadvantage, to a total value of approximately PLN 2.5 million.

He allegedly offered “attractive investments”

The investigation’s findings indicate that the alleged offenses took place from January 8 to June 19, 2026, in Jelenia Góra and other towns in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

The 23-year-old allegedly acted for financial gain, exploiting personal, friendly and professional relationships with people in his circle.

The injured parties included both people he met while working as a personal trainer at one of Jelenia Góra’s gyms and former acquaintances and childhood friends.

The man presented them with proposals to participate in investment ventures. These concerned, among other things, the purchase of real estate and cars, as well as financing car leases. In return, he promised substantial profits.

They took out loans and credit, then transferred the money

Most of the injured parties believed the proposals presented to them. They took out loans and cash credits, and then transferred the money to the defendant’s bank account.

The evidence collected by investigators indicates that from the outset the man did not intend to carry out the declared investments or enter into the announced agreements concerning the purchase of real estate.

A total of approximately PLN 2.5 million was handed over to the defendant.

The 23-year-old denies guilt

The man pleaded not guilty to the alleged offenses. The prosecution classified them under Article 286 § 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 294 § 1 of the Criminal Code and Article 12 § 1 of the Criminal Code.

The 23-year-old had no previous criminal record. He is awaiting trial in pre-trial detention.

The District Court in Jelenia Góra will decide the defendant’s further fate.
