Rescue groups from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Austria, Finland, Denmark, Ukraine, Russia, Estonia and Poland trained at the Pstrąż training ground. The rescue groups included, among others, firefighters, border guards, police officers and GOPR rescuers. The main aim of the joint manoeuvres was to coordinate international operations in the event of a disaster affecting Europe.

On Friday, the last day of the manoeuvres, demonstration exercises were held. They included a simulated operation to retake a building from terrorists using helicopters. The evacuation of people, firefighting and the searching of rubble by rescue dogs were also demonstrated. The conclusion of the manoeuvres was also an opportunity to present the latest equipment used to save lives.

The EUPOLEX 2005 International Exercises were the largest exercises of their kind held in Poland. The organiser of the exercises was the State Fire Service.
