During the night from Thursday to Friday (June 21–22), unknown perpetrators destroyed 48 gravestones at the new and old cemeteries in Wykroty. They acted with great force, knocking over gravestone slabs. In several cases, the slabs and crosses were smashed.

The village head notified the police, saying that the last act of vandalism at the cemetery took place about 12 years ago, but no more than five gravestones were destroyed then.

Residents say that on Thursday night, after the Portugal–Czech Republic match, dogs began barking, and someone noticed a group of young people walking toward the cemetery. However, they may have been only fans returning home after watching the match together.
