Leszek Możdżer is one of the most highly regarded jazz pianists in the world, and his improvised, one-of-a-kind concerts are a remarkable experience. Możdżer has created his own pioneering style, filling the gap between classical music and jazz.
The musician has worked with the most distinguished artists in contemporary music, from Pat Metheny and Marcus Miller to the legendary John Scofield and Adam Makowicz. To date, Leszek Możdżer has recorded more than one hundred albums with various artists, including Tomasz Stańko, Michał Urbaniak, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Anna Maria Jopek and David Gilmour. Many of these productions have achieved double-platinum status; particularly noteworthy among Możdżer’s own albums are “Chopin – Impressions,” “Makowicz vs. Możdżer” and “Komeda.”
The artist has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Grand Prix Melomani (he was Artist of the Year in 1997, 2005 and 2010), the 1998 Fryderyk Award (Jazz Musician of the Year category), the 2011 Fryderyk Award for the album “Kaczmarek by Możdżer,” as well as Fryderyk Awards for Best Pianist from 1994 to 2011. The artist also received the Paszport Polityki award in 2004.
Możdżer has performed in every European country, as well as in the United States, Canada and countries in South America and Asia. On Thursday evening, November 22, Leszek Możdżer will also take the stage at Bolesławiec’s “Forum.”
