A section of the water supply network in the Nowogrodziec municipality was modernized, a wastewater treatment plant was built, and 15 km of sewer lines were laid. Last week, a meeting with residents was organized on this occasion. Jacek Ruchała, president of the water company, and Robert Relich, mayor of Nowogrodziec, praised the investment. However, in an interview with Łużyce television, the mayor apparently let his imagination run a little too freely… – Figuratively speaking, we have emerged from the sewage pit. We are moving toward modernity. […] At last, Nowogrodziec will be a normal town – said Mayor Relich.
Could the residents of Nowogrodziec really have felt until now as though they were submerged in a sewage pit? Did they live in an abnormal town? Are the mayor’s words funny, distasteful, or perhaps acceptable? You can express your opinion below the article.
