On April 14, 2025, the County Building Supervision Inspector ordered the Nowogrodziec municipality to stop construction of two roads in Gierałtów because they had been built without the required building permits. Asphalt was laid on the roads in 2020 and 2021.
The municipality can legalize the construction of both roads by submitting the appropriate documents. The cost of the documents required for the two illegal roads leading to the home of mayor Robert Relich will amount to PLN 70,000 for the municipality. This is less than it would cost to demolish the roads and rebuild them legally.
Co radni powinni zdecydować w sprawie nielegalnych dróg?
Residents of the Nowogrodziec municipality commented on the event on social media:
The former mayor of Nowogrodziec (…) built illegal access roads to his own property. Roads. Not one. ROADS. Illegally. And now, ladies and gentlemen, the municipality—that is, all of us—will pay to sort out the mess he left behind. Fines, corrections, official paperwork… Because the gentleman wanted asphalt in front of his house. And we have the bill.
