Work on furnishing and arranging the interiors of the Social Welfare Home (17 Piastów Street), also known as the Senior Citizens’ Home, is nearing completion. Once this work is finished, recruitment of residents will begin.
The Social Welfare Home is intended for elderly people. It is located in a quiet district, close to the centre of Bolesławiec. Surrounded by a park with walking paths and benches, the Senior Citizens’ Home building has three floors. The ground floor contains a dining room, guest room, therapy room, exercise room and a room equipped with rehabilitation and physical therapy equipment. A chapel has been created right by the building entrance. The first and second floors contain single and double rooms, a common room and a small auxiliary kitchen. Each room has a bathroom and a balcony.
The Social Welfare Home in Bolesławiec is intended to meet residents’ essential living, care, social and religious needs. Qualified staff are tasked with providing residents with assistance in everyday activities and a family-like atmosphere.
Students of the University of the Third Age donated 28 works of art to the Social Welfare Home, where they will decorate the Senior Citizens’ Home. The works, created by the UTW students themselves, were produced in the studio of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre.
