The suspects were apprehended on Thursday, 15 December. Near Modłowa Street, officers of the Bolesławiec Municipal Police noticed three men. When they saw the patrol, one of them began to flee. During the escape, he threw a plastic bag onto the ground. As it later turned out, it contained a funnel soaked with the smell of fuel.
The man and his accomplices were apprehended. The officers found fuel containers and three empty mineral-water bottles.
Moreover, at one point a van arrived at the scene. When the driver noticed the municipal officers, he nervously accelerated and began making a sharp U-turn. The officers ordered him to stop. The man's vehicle contained two empty plastic containers and one metal container. In total, 120 litres of fuel were found in the suspects' possession.
All four men were taken to the police station. Bolesławiec police officers are conducting further activities in the case.
