Two teenage girls on one electric scooter caught the attention of Bolesławiec police officers. During a city patrol, traffic officers noticed that two people were riding the vehicle at the same time.
The scooter was being ridden by a 17-year-old girl, who was carrying her 15-year-old friend. Police stopped the teenagers for an inspection and reminded them that an electric scooter is intended for use by only one person.
The 15-year-old passenger was wearing a helmet. However, as Bolesławiec officers emphasize, this does not change the fact that riding two people on one electric scooter is prohibited.
The 17-year-old rider was fined.
Police remind the public that regulations concerning electric scooters clearly define the rules for using these vehicles. A rider may not carry other people, animals or loads on an electric scooter. Towing or pulling other vehicles is also prohibited.
It is worth remembering this, especially as electric scooters are increasingly used to get around the city. Carrying an additional person not only violates regulations, but can also significantly impair control of the vehicle and increase the risk of an accident.
