A serious-looking road accident occurred on Monday evening in the Gromadka municipality. For reasons not yet established, a motorcyclist hit a roadside barrier and then ended up in a ditch. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The report of the incident was received at 7:56 p.m. As firefighters from OSP Różyniec reported, this was already the unit’s 100th call-out for rescue operations this year.
The firefighters secured the scene and provided first aid to the injured motorcyclist until the emergency medical team arrived. The operation involved firefighters from OSP Różyniec, firefighters from JRG Bolesławiec, an emergency medical team and police officers.
Preliminary findings indicate that the motorcyclist hit an energy-absorbing roadside barrier and then left the road and entered a ditch. The motorcyclist sustained injuries and was handed over to the care of emergency responders. At this stage, no information has been provided about his condition or the extent of his injuries.
Police are conducting activities to establish the exact circumstances and cause of the accident.
This is another incident involving a motorcyclist in the region, which is why the services once again appeal to all road users to exercise particular caution. During the summer, when more two-wheelers appear on the roads, a moment of inattention or failing to adjust speed to the conditions can lead to very serious consequences.
