Residents of Bolesławiec County must prepare for another wave of high temperatures. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued a second-degree meteorological heat warning, which will be in effect from Monday, 3 August, at 12:00 until Thursday, 6 August, at 20:00.

According to forecasters’ predictions, the maximum daytime temperature will range from 30°C to 34°C. The nights will also bring little relief, with thermometers showing between 18°C and 22°C, which may make it difficult for the body to recover after a hot day.

The probability of the forecast phenomenon occurring has been assessed at 90 percent. A second-degree warning means that high temperatures may pose a health risk, especially to seniors, young children, pregnant women, and people suffering from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.

During the hottest hours of the day, it is advisable to limit time spent in the sun, remember to hydrate regularly, and avoid intense physical exertion. Children and animals should also never be left in parked cars—even for a short time—as the temperature inside the vehicle can rise to a life-threatening level.

The services also remind people to look out for elderly and isolated individuals, who may need assistance during prolonged heat. It is worth keeping homes shaded, wearing light, breathable clothing, and protecting the head from direct sunlight.

The current warning for Bolesławiec County will remain in effect until Thursday, 6 August, at 20:00. If the forecast changes, IMGW may update its notices, so it is worth following subsequent meteorological warnings regularly.
