The photograph shows a rainbow arch stretching over the City of Ceramics. “An interesting phenomenon in the sky over Bolesławiec, 7:00 p.m.,” wrote the Reader.
The phenomenon visible in the photograph is an atmospheric rainbow. It forms when sunlight passes through water droplets in the atmosphere. The light is refracted, reflected and dispersed, allowing us to see the characteristic colorful arch.
