Officers of the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec have been incorporated into the international GFFF (Ground Forest Fire Fighting) module, prepared for operations involving the extinguishing of forest fires outside Poland.

On 31 July, the firefighters – st. asp. Rafał Fajkowski and ogn. Tomasz Mius – completed a briefing preparing the module for deployment. The meeting was held at the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Wrocław.

After completing the required examinations, the officers will travel to Kraków Airport. It is from there that ogn. Tomasz Mius will fly to Spain, where he will participate both in international exercises and in operations involving the extinguishing of forest fires.

Meanwhile, st. asp. Rafał Fajkowski will remain in the country as a reserve member of the GFFF module. This means that, if necessary, he will be ready to deploy immediately and join the team carrying out the mission.

The deployment to Spain is not only support for operations conducted in regions threatened by fires, but also an opportunity to gain valuable experience. Participation in the international mission will make it possible to improve skills in conducting rescue and firefighting operations in difficult conditions and to cooperate with rescuers from other countries.

As the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec emphasizes, the participation of officers from Bolesławiec in preparing the GFFF module confirms their high level of training, professional experience and readiness to provide assistance also outside Poland.

Before their departure, the firefighters were wished safe service, success in carrying out their assigned tasks and a safe return to the country. The mission in Spain will be another example of Polish firefighters’ involvement in international rescue operations conducted wherever help is most needed.
