The vigilance of other road users allowed the driver who was posing a danger on the road to be quickly arrested. Officers from the Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec arrested a 36-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, whose test showed the presence of drugs.

The intervention followed reports from drivers traveling on the A18 motorway. They noticed a silver passenger car that was not maintaining a proper course. In addition, the vehicle had no registration plates and bore numerous signs of damage. Concerned witnesses notified the emergency services by calling 112.

A patrol from the Bolesławiec traffic police quickly located the indicated car, which was already traveling off the motorway when it was stopped. A 36-year-old resident of Bolesławiec was behind the wheel.

During the inspection, officers confirmed that the vehicle had numerous signs of damage. However, the man was unable to explain the circumstances in which they had occurred. His behavior aroused the officers’ suspicions, so a test for the presence of drugs was carried out. The test result was positive.

The driver was arrested and taken into police custody. The car was towed to a police impound lot, where it will remain at the disposal of those conducting the proceedings.

Further activities in this case are being carried out by officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec. If tests confirm that the 36-year-old was driving under the influence of drugs, he will answer for his actions before a court.

Police remind the public that driving under the influence of drugs is a criminal offense. Such an act is punishable by up to 3 years in prison, a multi-year driving ban and severe financial consequences. At the same time, officers emphasize that a quick response by witnesses and reporting dangerous behavior to the emergency number 112 can prevent a tragedy and save human lives.
