Rafał Amrogowicz, senior sales manager at Biedronka:

Thank you for your message and report concerning the operation of the store in Bolesławiec. The safety of customers and employees is our absolute priority. After receiving the report, we immediately verified the described situation. The pallet located near the marked emergency exit was removed. We are attaching a current photo.

And emphasizes:

We emphasize that this was an isolated incident resulting from the large volume of goods to be put on the shelves and the holiday season. To improve the operation of the store, we have already taken specific steps. Five new employees have joined the store team, and further recruitment is currently underway. We believe that strengthening the team will make it possible to carry out daily duties more efficiently and maintain a high standard of organization in the sales area for our customers.

And adds: – At the same time, we encourage people interested in working on our team to apply for the positions currently open at the Bolesławiec store: Sales Assistant–Cashier and Store Support. (They can be found on the chain’s website).

Let us recall that on July 23 we reported that we had received such a report from a Reader, who signed it Gall Anonim:

I am writing to ask you to look into the situation at the Biedronka store on Chrobrego Street (...) in Bolesławiec. Not long ago, after the store reopened following renovation, everything looked exemplary, the aisles were clear, order prevailed, and shopping could be done comfortably. Today, the same store increasingly resembles a warehouse or an obstacle course rather than a place intended for customers. Pallets are standing practically everywhere, passageways are blocked, and moving around the store is difficult, especially for older people, parents with strollers, and people with limited mobility.

The person who submitted the report added:

The most worrying thing, however, is that one of the photos shows a pallet placed in front of the marked emergency exit. This raises a very serious question: who is responsible for this state of affairs? Is it a decision by the store management, regional management, or a method of organization imposed by the entire chain?

And added: “It is difficult to understand why more pallets are being brought onto the sales floor when they remain unpacked for long periods. Why turn the store into a warehouse at the expense of customers’ safety and comfort?”.

And concluded: “As a resident of Bolesławiec, I am asking you to look into this matter. I hope we will not have to wait for a fire, evacuation, or an unfortunate accident before someone recognizes that a problem exists. Residents should not have to accept shopping in such conditions”.

From our own experience, we know that the problem mentioned does not concern only the Biedronka store on Chrobrego Street in Bolesławiec. We asked the popular chain about the matter. We are waiting for a response.
