A 29-year-old resident of Bolesławiec has been placed in temporary custody. The man is suspected of a series of crimes committed in Bolesławiec and the surrounding area.

Investigators accuse him, among other things, of thefts from stores in the Biedronka, Dino and Hebe chains, robbery theft, car theft and the theft of two tillers. The man will also face charges of illegal possession of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

The investigation established that between 1 August and 22 September 2026 the suspect allegedly stole goods from stores in Bolesławiec on four occasions. These included chemical products and cosmetics, alcohol and coffee.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the total value of the items stolen in this way exceeded PLN 3,500. The alleged method was similar each time: the man entered a store, took goods from the shelves and put them in a bag, then left the store without paying.

He pulled out a knife during an attempted arrest

A serious incident occurred on 22 September 2026 at one of the Biedronka chain’s stores. The man allegedly attempted to take chemical products and cosmetics worth more than PLN 1,500.

However, he was noticed by a security employee, who tried to apprehend him. The suspect was holding a knife, pointed the blade at the security guard and threatened to kill him. He then fled the store.

Stolen Opel and two tillers

Investigators also established that on 11 August 2026 in Kruszyn the suspect appropriated an Opel Corsa passenger car worth approximately PLN 1,000.

On the same day, he stole two Stihl tillers, whose combined value was estimated at PLN 10,000.

At his apartment, authorities secured more than 4 grams of cannabis herb other than fibrous hemp and 0.17 grams of methamphetamine.

The suspect admitted to the charges

The 29-year-old admitted to committing the crimes with which he was charged and gave explanations.

The man had previously been convicted by the courts on numerous occasions. He committed the alleged property crimes while under recidivism provisions.

The District Court in Bolesławiec, at the prosecutor’s office’s request, ordered temporary detention for the suspect. The 29-year-old faces up to 15 years in prison.
