Officers stopped a passenger car driven by a 30-year-old resident of Bolesławiec for inspection. After checking his details in police databases, it turned out that the man did not have the required authorisation to drive.
The police also tested the driver’s sobriety. The breathalyser detected no alcohol, but a drug test indicated the presence of amphetamine in the 30-year-old’s body.
In connection with the result, blood was taken from the man for further laboratory tests. The results will determine the concentration of intoxicating substances in his body and will constitute evidence in the ongoing proceedings.
However, the inspection did not end there. While checking the vehicle, officers found registration plates from another car inside it. The plates were secured, and the police are clarifying the circumstances in which the driver possessed them.
The police remind the public that driving while intoxicated or under the influence of intoxicating substances is a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment. The final legal classification of the act in this case will depend, among other things, on the results of the blood tests and the findings of the ongoing proceedings.
