On Thursday afternoon, two fire service crews appeared outside the Empik store. The call was related to a sharp smell that irritated the throat inside the store.

The uniformed officers’ equipment did not detect any danger, although—as we were informed—a distinctive smell (à la paint or varnish) could indeed be felt inside the premises.

Operations to ventilate the premises are underway at the scene. Firefighters are also looking for the source of the aforementioned smell.

Three people evacuated before the uniformed officers arrived. Fortunately, no one was injured.
