Crimes were committed in the Osiecznica commune. Officers established that the perpetrators had acted together, carrying out thefts and break-ins at construction sites where investment projects were under way. Operational activities led the police to the property of one of the residents of Bolesławiec County.

It was there, hidden under a tarpaulin, that two stolen machines were found—a boom lift and a wheeled compressor. The total value of the recovered property was estimated at approximately PLN 200,000.

Investigators established that four people were responsible for the crimes. Three residents of Bolesławiec County, aged 34, 39 and 52, are suspected of involvement in thefts and burglaries. The fourth man will face charges for handling stolen goods because he hid property originating from crimes.

The first theft took place at the beginning of May. A compressor worth approximately PLN 50,000 disappeared from the construction site of a railway line. The perpetrators also allegedly broke into a construction container, from which they took electronic and household appliances.

Another crime took place a month later at a bridge construction site in the Osiecznica commune. This time, the perpetrators stole a boom lift and scaffolding components. According to police findings, the suspects had previously surveyed the area and chosen access routes that allowed them to avoid surveillance cameras.

The investigation resulted in the detention of three men. The fourth suspect is currently in prison, where he is serving a sentence of more than three years for previous crimes against property. Procedural activities involving him are to be carried out at the correctional facility.

Police officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec have already brought charges against the detainees. The 39-year-old will face charges for handling stolen goods in connection with hiding property originating from two crimes. The 52-year-old, acting under recidivism conditions, heard three charges covering two thefts and one burglary.

The 34-year-old suspect, in turn, will face charges for two thefts and one burglary. He was also charged with failing to stop for a traffic check and driving despite a court-imposed driving ban.

Police emphasize that the case is developing. Officers are carrying out further activities aimed at recovering the remaining stolen property and clarifying all the circumstances of the case.
