On Wednesday, at around 1:30 p.m., another flooding occurred at the underpass near Szczytnica. A county resident informed us about the issue and, as she reports, contacted the emergency services herself and recorded a video documenting the scale of the problem.
The reader added that after every heavier downpour, there is simply a lake there. Today, once again, several metres of the road were flooded, with the water reaching around half a metre in places.
According to the woman who reported the issue, this is not an isolated incident. The problem has allegedly been occurring for years and has still not been effectively resolved.
The fire service arrived at the site today, and the underpass was temporarily closed before 2 p.m. This, in turn... caused further disruption.
The woman explained that this is a very busy location. People travel to and from work there. When the underpass is closed, traffic jams form.
Why does this happen? The reader speculates that the regular flooding is caused by a blocked drainage system or inadequate infrastructure maintenance.
There are also consequences for drivers. – Last year, I myself lost my licence plate there. At the police station, there were several dozen plates waiting to be collected. Today, I also saw a car that had probably lost its plate in this water – she reports.
We appeal to the road administrator to respond. We will return to this issue.
