There will be a helipad and a new car park at the Bolesławiec hospital. During Wednesday’s conference, it was announced that the project would be carried out as a single integrated undertaking. Both facilities will be built on the same plot and are intended to jointly improve the hospital’s operation – both in terms of emergency medical services and everyday accessibility for patients.
The hospital received PLN 5 million in funding from the Ministry of Health for the construction of the helipad.
As emphasized during the meeting, the construction of the helipad had been one of the most important missing infrastructure elements for years. It is also a necessary condition for the continued operation of the hospital emergency department at the required standard.
The new helipad is to enable more efficient transport of patients requiring urgent assistance and improve access to specialist treatment. According to the announcement, it will be located behind the modular building on Zwycięstwa Street – in an area that has so far remained undeveloped.
The second part of the project will be the construction of a new car park along the fence on the Ślusarska Street side. Around 40 new parking spaces for patients and visitors are planned.
The project also includes reorganizing traffic on the hospital grounds. A key element will be a new access road from Ślusarska Street, which – according to the plans – will reduce the current vehicle traffic and allow vehicles to be distributed more efficiently throughout the complex.
The plans also include solutions related to the ecological transformation of the infrastructure. The car park is to be equipped with eight electric vehicle charging stations, fast chargers and a bicycle shelter. The surface technology is intended to ensure high permeability and preserve as much biologically active area as possible.
Hospital authorities emphasize that there is little undeveloped land left for expansion on the facility’s grounds. Therefore, the project was designed to make maximum use of the available space while also organizing the traffic layout.
The project contractor is Sinmag from Bolesławiec, which submitted the most advantageous offer in the tender procedure.
If the schedule is met, patients are to see the first effects of the changes this year – both in terms of faster access to medical assistance and easier travel to and parking at the hospital.
We will return to this topic.
