On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, we published an article Egyptian darkness in Lidl’s paid car park in Bolesławiec, about customers having to use flashlights in Lidl’s car park after dark. We first described the lack of lighting problem in 2023. Since then, the chain had not responded to its customers’ needs.

That changed this year. After our inquiry, we received an assurance on October 9 that the fault would be repaired.

“We would like to inform you that we have immediately taken steps to resolve the reported lighting problem at the store in Bolesławiec,” wrote Aleksandra Robaszkiewicz. “The matter has already been referred to an authorized service center, which is working to diagnose and fix the fault. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and assure you that we are doing everything possible to restore the lighting as soon as possible. Thank you for your inquiry,” added the director of Corporate Relations at Lidl Polska.

Lidl Polska also assured us that it strives to make shopping in its stores convenient and comfortable for customers.

“To this end, stores have wide aisles, we ensure that products are properly displayed, and we provide priority checkout lanes for pregnant women and people with disabilities. Ensuring the safety of customers and employees is equally important to us,” wrote Aleksandra Robaszkiewicz.

As the days get shorter because of the changing season and, consequently, the time of day, a lit Lidl car park is an important matter. We could act in this and other cases only thanks to reports from our readers.
