The currently unused part of the facility is to be given a new function. The first stage provides for the creation of around 60 covered parking spaces intended for rent.

The spaces are to be created in the existing pavilions, which will be adapted for their new purpose. The site will be fenced and locked, while additional security will be provided by surveillance cameras.

The planned project does not mean that the commercial section of the market will be closed. Trading will continue under the existing arrangements, and businesses operating on the site will retain their spaces.

The market on Wesoła Street has operated in its current form for nearly 15 years. It occupies an area of almost one hectare, and around 80 people conduct commercial and service activities there.

The facility has several co-owners. In addition to the municipal entity, more than 30 private shareholders hold stakes in the market.
