A dangerous situation unfolded on the A4 motorway (in Środa County), where a truck driver was reportedly driving chaotically and creating a hazard for other road users. Officers from Bolesławiec, who were travelling towards Wrocław at the time, were informed of the incident.

According to the information received, the truck driver might have been under the influence of drugs. Before the patrol arrived, a citizen's detention took place—one of the drivers travelling on the motorway decided to intervene after noticing the truck's disturbing behaviour.

After the vehicle was stopped, police officers took action against a 32-year-old resident of Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The officers established that the man had previously taken drugs, so he was handed over for further action to officers from the unit responsible for the location of the intervention.

A test carried out at the scene confirmed the presence of drugs in the driver's system. As a result, the 32-year-old's driving licence was confiscated, and the case will be investigated further.

Police stress that the witnesses' swift response and the responsible conduct of other road users were crucial to road safety. The intervention made it possible to remove from traffic a driver who, according to the officers' findings, could have posed a real threat to other people travelling on the motorway.
