The results of the competition for the head of the merged Bolesławiec–Zgorzelec hospitals are in. As many of our Readers predicted, the new director is the current head of St. Luke’s Hospital Kamil Barczyk. We have learned that the committee selected him unanimously.

Let us remind you. On 2 June 2026, the Representatives’ Council of the Multispecialist Healthcare Team “Bolesławiec-Zgorzelec” Independent Public Healthcare Institution based in Wrocław adopted a resolution to announce a competition for the position of director of the facility.

According to Powiat Zgorzelecki, the resolution was adopted by the Representatives’ Council, represented by Zgorzelec County starost Artur Bieliński and Bolesławiec County starost Tomasz Gabrysiak. The document formally began the procedure for selecting the person who will manage the Multispecialist Healthcare Team “Bolesławiec-Zgorzelec”.

What requirements did the candidate have to meet?

Those interested in participating in the competition had to meet the following requirements:

1) higher education;
2) knowledge and experience ensuring the proper performance of duties in the position covered by the competition;
3) at least five years of work experience in a managerial position or completion of postgraduate studies in management and at least three years of work experience;
4) no final conviction for an intentional crime.
