Firefighters had their hands full on Sunday evening, June 21, when a powerful storm swept across the county. Lightning, intense electrical discharges and a wall of water caused extensive damage.

Most call-outs involved trees blocking roads and flooded basements. Residents of Dobra feared that their retention reservoir would overflow; fortunately, the rain stopped in time. Firefighters were also called to help people whose electrical boxes had been struck by lightning, destroying the installation. All the damage will probably be assessed tomorrow. After the storm, a spectacular rainbow appeared in the sky.
