The issue of noise emitted by the Gerresheimer plant has already been covered in istotne.pl. Residents of neighboring housing estates indicated that the sounds of the plant’s operation are particularly noticeable at night. We described the matter in the article: “Residents complain about noise from Gerresheimer. Company announces measures”.
Marek Miszczak, President of the Management Board and director of the Gerresheimer plant in Bolesławiec, has now addressed the matter. In a statement sent to us, he emphasized that for several years the company has been carrying out investments aimed at reducing the plant’s acoustic impact on its surroundings.
– For several years, we have consistently been carrying out investments aimed at reducing the acoustic impact of our plant on its surroundings. We have already implemented a number of technical solutions, and further measures are planned over the coming years – Marek Miszczak informed us.Marek Miszczak.
Work to reduce noise has been carried out at the plant
The plant’s management sent the editorial team photographs showing the completed work and technical solutions applied on the Polna and Hutnicza streets sides.
During a visit to the plant, an istotne.pl journalist had the opportunity to see some of the completed investments. We confirmed that a number of measures aimed at reducing noise emissions into the surroundings had been carried out recently.
According to company representatives, these measures are part of a long-term modernization program.
– Our long-term plan includes, among other things, the installation of additional silencers, sound-absorbing cladding, acoustic screens and other solutions allowing us to further reduce noise emissions – the company’s president emphasized.
Independent tests were carried out at the end of May
The company also reported the results of its latest noise measurements. The tests were carried out on May 28, 2026, by the Occupational Hygiene Laboratory in Chojnów, which is accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation.
The documentation provided to the editorial team shows that the measurements concerned noise emitted into the environment by the plant located on Bolesława Chrobrego Street in Bolesławiec. The test results were presented during a meeting devoted to the subject.
– We regularly monitor noise levels in cooperation with an independent, specialized external company. The latest tests were conducted on May 28, 2026, and we presented their results during our meeting – Marek Miszczak said.
Company declares dialogue with residents
Gerresheimer representatives assure that they are aware of the concerns raised by residents living near the plant and declare that they will continue cooperating both with the local community and with public administration authorities.
– We realize that noise is an important issue for residents living near the plant. That is why we try to listen to the comments raised, respond to residents’ requests and maintain an open dialogue with all interested parties – the company’s president emphasized.
The company adds that further investments are to be carried out in the coming years. Their purpose is to gradually reduce noise levels and improve relations with residents of nearby housing estates.
– We believe that consistently implemented investments and open communication will lead to further improvement of the situation and help build good relations with our surroundings – Marek Miszczak concluded. – The plant has operated continuously since 1952 and was built on what were then the outskirts of the city. Over more than 70 years, Bolesławiec developed and expanded around the existing plant, as a result of which residential buildings came to be located in its immediate vicinity. As a responsible employer and member of the local community, we realize that residents’ comfort is important. Therefore, wherever tests show exceedances of permissible noise standards or the possibility of further reducing emissions, we will analyze and implement appropriate technical solutions aimed at silencing it. We regularly conduct noise measurements in cooperation with independent, accredited laboratories. These tests serve not only to monitor the plant’s impact on its surroundings, but also to ensure safe and appropriate working conditions for our employees. Environmental monitoring and noise-reduction measures are a permanent part of our development strategy and the plant’s responsible operation – the president added.
It is not yet known exactly what effects the planned measures will produce. The issue of noise emitted by the plant nevertheless remains one of the most important concerns raised by residents of this part of Bolesławiec.
