A resident of Bielska Street in Bolesławiec makes no secret of her irritation and lack of hope that someone will deal with the noisy motorcyclist, who has allegedly been riding around the apartment blocks on Bielska Street for several weeks.

“It started during the Ceramics Festival,” the woman describes the situation. “The man rides around Bielska and Asnyka streets and makes noise until late at night. We went to the housing cooperative, but they referred us to the police and even gave us a number, but no one answers it,” the desperate woman says.

We checked the telephone number provided for the police. We managed to get through; the duty officer answered. We encouraged the woman to contact them again and describe the situation to a police officer.

A vehicle must not disturb the peace

Polish road traffic law states that a vehicle must be maintained in such a way that its use does not disturb the public peace through noise exceeding the level specified in detailed regulations.

The police may take a measurement, but even without one, based on reasonable suspicion, they may seize the registration certificate electronically in CEPiK and refer the motorcycle for an additional technical inspection.

If the motorcycle exceeds the permissible noise level, the driver must expect not only a fine but also the electronic seizure of the registration certificate in CEPiK.
