The cooperation between the Bolesławiec hospital and MEDASK has attracted our and our readers’ interest for several months. In recent weeks, we have published further information concerning questions about the transparency of financing and the scope of the relationship between the facility and the private company, whose owners are people associated with the hospital.
During a press conference held on June 12 and devoted to investments financed under the National Recovery Plan, the istotne.pl editorial team once again asked the hospital director about a response to the request concerning links between the hospital and MEDASK.
– Director, I would like to ask about money and the transparency of financing. Two months ago, I asked a question and requested public information about the links between the hospital and MEDASK. When will you respond? – asked Krzysztof Gwizdała, a journalist with istotne.pl.
The hospital director did not respond directly to the substance of the question.
– I would only like to focus exclusively on the investments we are carrying out under the NRP. And all the answers you are asking about have been provided – replied Kamil Barczyk.
After the question about the deadline for providing a response was clarified, the director again stated that the hospital’s position had already been presented.
– In our opinion, all the questions you asked, and the answers, have been provided. Thank you very much – he concluded.
The matter remains open
The director’s position remains unchanged despite earlier publications concerning MEDASK and questions directed to the hospital. We maintain that some of the information we requested under the public-information access procedure has not yet been made available.
The hospital’s cooperation with MEDASK has already been the subject of several publications and continues to attract residents’ interest. In recent days, information has also emerged about inspections conducted by state institutions in connection with the company’s activities and the operation of the MEDASK program.
The dispute has reached the court
Due to the lack of a complete response to some questions concerning the hospital’s cooperation with MEDASK, the istotne.pl editorial team referred the matter to the administrative court. The complaint concerns the manner in which obligations arising from the Act on Access to Public Information were carried out. The proceedings are to determine whether the hospital properly answered all the questions and whether the requested information should be disclosed. The matter is awaiting consideration by the court.
