Employees of St. Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec are waiting for their wages—this is what the istotne.pl newsroom was told. A woman who contacted us on the night from Friday to Saturday said that the money had not been credited to her account. According to her account, a similar problem also affected other people employed at the facility.
The source mentioned, among others, kitchen staff, laundry workers and nursing aides. She stressed that, under the contract, wages should be paid by the 10th of the month. In October, that date falls on a Saturday.
The lack of money caused concern among the employees. The woman spoke about bills and fees for preschools and nurseries, which families must pay by specific deadlines. Her account also indicated that, at the time of the conversation, she had no confirmed information about when the wages would appear in her account. At her request for anonymity, we are not disclosing her details.
A reader sent a separate report claiming that the lack of payments affected hospital staff both in Bolesławiec and in Zgorzelec. However, the newsroom has no confirmation of the scale of the problem or information establishing how many employees did not receive their money.
Director says the transfers were sent
On Saturday, October 10, we contacted Kamil Barczyk about the matter. The hospital director said that the transfers had definitely been sent the previous day, Friday, October 9. He explained that he had signed them personally. He also announced that he would investigate the situation and provide further information.
At the time the article was prepared, we had not yet received the results of this verification. We also had no confirmation as to whether the money had already reached the accounts of all employees who reported the problem.
The reader and the source linked the situation to the merger of the hospitals. At this stage, however, there is no confirmation that these organizational changes were the cause of the reported missing wages.
