On 27 May 2026, soldiers from the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade, the 43rd Military Economic Unit and the United States Army took part in joint training on the MASCAL procedure (Mass Casualty), used during incidents resulting in large numbers of casualties.
The aim of the exercises was to improve the ability to respond quickly, conduct rescue operations and organize medical evacuation in conditions requiring immediate decision-making. The training scenarios reflected situations in which effective cooperation, proper assessment of the situation and efficient action under time pressure are crucial.
During the training, participants had the opportunity to test their skills in practice under realistic conditions. The exercises not only helped reinforce procedures related to battlefield medicine, but also enabled the exchange of experience between soldiers of both armies.
The joint training created an opportunity to learn about different methods of operation and develop solutions improving the effectiveness of cooperation during future operations.
An important element of the initiative was also strengthening interoperability between the Polish and American armed forces. Carrying out tasks in an international environment makes it possible to improve communication, overcome language barriers and build mutual trust, which in crisis situations may be of key importance to the success of rescue operations.
The joint MASCAL exercises once again confirmed the high level of commitment of the soldiers and the importance of regular training conducted as part of allied cooperation. Initiatives of this kind increase readiness to respond to the most demanding situations and constitute an important element in building the security and operational capabilities of the armed forces of NATO countries.
