Officers from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra arrested a 34-year-old resident of Bolesławiec who failed to stop for a roadside check and tried to flee from the officers. The incident took place in Karkonosze County.

According to information provided by the police, the Audi driver ignored the signals to stop and continued driving, endangering other road users. The officers began a chase.

The escape ended in Strzyżowiec. The 34-year-old lost control of the vehicle, then hit a post and a tree. He was arrested.

During further proceedings, the officers determined that the man had been driving despite a valid court-imposed driving ban and revoked driving privileges. A preliminary test also indicated that he may have been under the influence of narcotic substances.

The police also found methamphetamine on him.

The 34-year-old will now stand trial for failing to stop for a roadside check, driving despite a ban and possessing drugs. He may face up to 5 years in prison for the offenses committed.
