The Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office is conducting an investigation against a 34-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County who is suspected of violating a court order prohibiting him from approaching his former partner and of making threats to kill her and her current partner.

Investigators said the man had previously been convicted of persistently harassing the woman and her partner. The verdict in that case was handed down on July 24, 2025, by the Bolesławiec District Court. In addition to a 10-month prison sentence, the court also imposed a ban on contacting or approaching the victims in any form.

According to the prosecution’s findings, the suspect nevertheless ignored the court orders. Even while serving time in prison, he allegedly sent letters to his former partner and text messages to her phone number. The correspondence, investigators report, allegedly included threats to kill both the woman and her new partner.

The most serious violation of the order

The most serious incident occurred on May 1, 2026, in Bolesławiec. Investigators say that the suspect, driving an Audi, allegedly demanded that the woman get into his vehicle.

When she refused, the man drove onto the pavement where the victims were walking and then allegedly blocked their way.

During the incident, according to the prosecution, he allegedly threatened them with murder again. The 34-year-old’s conduct caused the victims to genuinely fear that the threats would be carried out.
After being arrested and brought to the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office, the man was charged with criminal threats and violating a court order prohibiting contact with and approaching the victims. The offenses were allegedly committed under recidivist conditions.

The suspect pleaded not guilty and gave an explanation. At the prosecutor’s request, the Bolesławiec District Court ordered him held in pre-trial detention for two months.

Investigators emphasize that the 34-year-old had previously been convicted by the courts several times. For the offenses currently charged, he faces up to 7 years and 6 months in prison.
