On 22 May, the provincial stage of the National Fire Safety Knowledge Tournament “Youth Prevent Fires” was held in Srebrna Góra. The best young experts in fire safety from across Lower Silesia took part, including representatives of Bolesławiec County.
The county was represented by: Szymon Biegacz from the School and Preschool Complex in Ocice (age group I), Aleksandra Różnicka from the School and Preschool Complex in Bożejowice (age group II), and Hubert Kopania from the Electronic Schools Complex in Bolesławiec (age group III).
The results of the provincial final brought tremendous success to the representatives of Bolesławiec County. In age group II, first place went to Aleksandra Różnicka, while in age group III, Hubert Kopania proved unbeatable and also took the top step of the podium.
This achievement is all the more significant because the winners of the provincial qualifying rounds earned the right to represent Lower Silesia during the national stage of the National Fire Safety Knowledge Tournament. The national final will be held in Częstochowa and will bring together the best participants from across Poland.
The “Youth Prevent Fires” tournament has promoted knowledge of fire protection, safety, rescue services and the work of fire brigades for years. Participants must demonstrate not only knowledge of regulations and safety rules, but also an understanding of how fire protection units operate.
The success of Aleksandra Różnicka and Hubert Kopania confirms the high level of preparation among young people from Bolesławiec County, as well as the commitment of the teachers and supervisors who support the participants in preparing for the competition.
The Board of the County Branch of the Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland in Bolesławiec:
We warmly congratulate all participants on their results, commitment and passion for firefighting. We also thank the supervisors.
The firefighters add:
We are keeping our fingers crossed for the representatives of Lower Silesia and Bolesławiec County and wish them success at the national stage.
The representatives of Lower Silesia face the final stage of the competition. Good luck!
